John was born in Detroit and raised in Trenton where he currently resides. He has a degree in Economics and a minor in Science from Albion College. John also went on to graduate from Wayne State University, Department of Mortuary Science. His memberships include St. Paul Lutheran Church, Trenton Rotary, Southern Wayne County Chamber of Commerce, National Funeral Directors Association, Michigan Funeral Directors Association, Chairman of Thomas Shumate Endowment for the Arts and Grosse Ile Golf and Country Club, the Southern Great Lakes Symphony and the YMCA. John and his wife, Jennifer, have three sons.

Jennifer graduated from Trenton High School and still resides in Trenton along with her husband, John, and 3 sons. In 2000, Jennifer was appointed to the Trenton Planning Commissions by the past Mayor. She was also appointed to the Board of Directors of the Downriver Guidance Center in December 2001-2003. She is a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Trenton, and is a realtor with Carol Bollo and Associates.

Tom has been with the Martenson family since 1979. He graduated from Wayne State University, Department of Mortuary Science in 1980, and is a licensed Mortician/Funeral Director with the State of Michigan. Tom is a member of the National Funeral Directors Associaton and the Michigan Funeral Directors Association; serves Arbor Hospice & Home Care as a member of the Emeritus Board of Directors; the Board of Directors of the Allen Park Chamber of Commerce; is a member and past President of the Kiwanis Club of Allen Park; is a member of the Father Saylor Knights of Columbus Council #3774; and is a member of Saint Frances Cabrini Parish. Tom and his wife, Gale, have three daughters and 8 grandchildren.

Robin has been with the Martenson Family of Funeral Homes for nearly 30 years. In 1989 she graduated from Wayne State University, Department of Mortuary Science. She is a member of Michigan Funeral Directors Association, and National Funeral Directors Association, and is a former member of Allen Park Business and Professional Women. Robin and her husband, Nathan, attend Woodhaven Free Will Baptist Church.

He and his wife, Brandi, are proud parents of 2 children and are members of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Monroe. An avid outdoorsman, Tom is a State Officer for Duck’s Unlimited. He is a member of The Monroe Club and also has been an active volunteer for the Monroe County Chamber of Commerce, United Way of Monroe County and the American Red Cross.

Board in the city of Southgate, and formerly served on the Southgate Planning Commission. He attends St. Cyprian Catholic Church and has a son, Zach, with his wife Tami.

Kelsey was raised in Allen Park and graduated from Allen Park High School in 2012. She attended Oakland University to study journalism before finding her calling in funeral service and transferring to Wayne State University for the Department of Mortuary Science. She graduated top of her class in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Mortuary Science. She also obtained her Certified Crematory Operator License and attends various seminars to continue her education in funeral service. Kelsey lives in Allen Park with her boyfriend Mike and much loved pets. In her spare time she enjoys reading, playing tennis, and spending time with her nephew Zeke.

His hobbies include any outdoor activity, sports, reading, and historical studies.

David Graduated from Trenton High School in 1978 and attended Western Michigan University for his Undergraduate Studies, graduating in 1984 from Wayne State University, Department of Mortuary Science. He is a member of the Allen Park Rotary club (past President). He and his wife Lynda attend Allen Park Presbyterian Church and live in Allen Park. David is the proud father of Elizabeth and David Jr. “I have been involved in Funeral Service for most of my adult life and I’m honored to be back working with the Martenson Family of Funeral Homes as an Advanced Planning Director. It’s very important to me to help guide individuals and families to make informed decisions on funeral pre-arrangements”.

Jeffrey A. Kelley is an Advanced Planning Funeral Director for the Martenson Family of Funeral Homes. He graduated from Wayne State University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mortuary Science and is a licensed funeral director in both Michigan and Ohio. Jeff has worked in funeral service for 15 years and has an expansive knowledge of different types of life insurance. His knowledge of funeral service and insurance enables him to better assist families with their advance funeral planning decisions. He lives in Monroe with his wife Jennifer and two daughters.

Fred graduated from Madonna University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree. He then attended and graduated from Sacred Heart Major Seminary with his M.A.P.S. He belongs to Temple Israel, West Bloomfield Township, and is a former Hospice Chaplain.

Phae attended Henry Ford Community College where she received her Business Management degree. She is also a member of the Sports Car Club of America and is fulfilling her requirements to become a member of the Westshore Sailing Club. Phae has 4 children, 2 stepchildren and 11 grandchildren. She previously served as secretary and Commodored wife of the West Shore Sailing Club. She has also been with the Martenson family since 2002.

Danielle graduated in 2012 from Trenton High School, having been a member of the Homecoming court the same year. In addition to obtaining her high school diploma, she successfully earned her Dental Assistant Certificate while in high school. Prior to her joining the Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, she held employment positions such as being a Dental Assistant, a Server and a Director of First Impressions/Receptionist at a hair salon in the Downriver area. Residing in Trenton, Danielle finds joy in living life to the fullest and providing help to others.

Lacey graduated Cum Laude from John F. Kennedy High school in 1997. She had worked as an Optician for over 15 years including being General Manager for Pearl Vision. She also had worked as a Mortgage Banker, Insurance agent, and is a certified Phlebotomist. In her spare time, she enjoys singing, and had been lead singer of past bands of the downriver area. Lacey is a mother of one son, and resides in the Monroe area.
