Genealogical Research

Posted on October 15, 2012 by Martenson Family of Funeral Homes

There are times when a family member or friend will call the funeral home for the location of burial for a relative or friend. A gentleman had called asking about the burial place of a dear friend of his. I asked him for his name and telephone number so I could look up his friends name. I found the requested name and promptly called him back. I had discovered his friend was a servicemen in Vietnam and he had died in the war. As I was talking to the man who had called he explained to me he was going to be in town for a few days and wanted to pay his respects to his friend. He was coming in from out of town and wanted to be sure of the place of burial. We spoke quite a bit and I was able to provide him with the location of the grave.

He was thankful for the information that I had provided him with. After I had hung up the phone I realized the value of true friendship and how much his friend had been on his mind after over 40 years. Here is one of many links to help with genealogical research www.lifetimelookback.com
