Kathleen Ida Prather

Kathleen Ida Prather, age 93 of Newport, passed away Monday, April 25, 2022 in her home. Born September 28, 1928 in Seminole, Pennsylvania, Kathleen was the daughter of Walter and Katherine (Kiss) Shoemaker. A 1946 graduate of Monroe High School, she married the love of her life, Ernest Prather, on October 25, 1946. Sadly he preceded her in death August 10, 2016. A dedicated homemaker, Kathleen had been a member of the Newport Community Church. Her most treasured times were those spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Kathleen leaves to cherish her memory her children: Jeani Campbell, Jacquelyn (Mick) Wilson, David (Virginia) Prather and Laurie Vasquez; 7 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 2 siblings.
