Born in Monroe, Riley was the son of Donald & Ida (Bachman) Laura. A veteran of the United States Army, Riley married the love of his life, Nancy Cookson, on October 4, 1958. He spent 39 years as in Tool & Die with Ford Motor Company's Monroe Plant, retiring in 2003. Riley also had worked for Ritter Pottery in South Rockwood. He was a member of the NRA and at one time was a member of the Masons. Riley leaves to cherish his memory, Nancy, his wife of the past 54 years; his children: Brian (Sue) Laura of Flat Rock, Bruce Laura of Garden City, Kerri (Bob) Saunders of Gibraltar, Karl Laura of Rockwood and Michael (Julie) Laura of Brownstown; two brothers: Robert Laura of Woodhaven and Richard Laura of Toledo; a sister Joyce (Jim) Basicek of Trenton as well as 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Sadly, Riley was preceded in death by his parents.
