Robert J. Swearingen

Robert was a great family man and loving father. He married Jacqueline in 1982 and the couple had two children together, son Kyle and daughter Lindsey, with one granddaughter Emma Swearingen. He was the youngest of 5 siblings, Chuck, Sharon, Tom, and Les. As hectic as life can be, Robert always put family first. Robert's passion for hockey began while playing the game himself. Which then evolved into a love for coaching and mentoring players. His influence on the game continues to be passed on by former players picking up the clipboard and creating a new generation of coaches, leaving him time to pick up his golf clubs. Second only to hockey, was his love for Beaver Island where he was an avid deer hunter. His time at C.C's outpost with family and friends was extremely dear to him. He will be mourned by the many who loved him, except the refs. Visitation is on Monday from 3 - 9 pm at The Trenton Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 3200 West Rd.
