Born in Wyandotte, Alice was the daughter of Louis and Katherine (Rushlow) Lorenz. As a young girl she was a talented violin player performing in an orchestra. She was married to Charles "Chuck" Witte on July 1, 1944. Sadly he preceded her in death July 23, 1973. She then married Richard Blum on July 19, 1974. He also preceded her in death December 26, 2012. A dedicated homemaker, Alice was longtime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, the "Church Women" and had sang in the choir. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, knitting and collecting tea pots, but her most cherished times were those spent with her family. Alice leaves to cherish her memory her children: Eileen Bogoski of Monroe, Gary (Winifred) Witte of Columbus, Ohio, Amy (Jim) Helzer of Maybee, Carole (Gerald) Bogoski of Carleton, Jill (Anthony) Chacon of Newport, Shirley (James) West of Maybee and Nate Witte of Denver, Colorado; as well as 20 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. In addition to her parents and both husbands, she was preceded in death by two sons George Witte and Russell Brimmer; a daughter Paulette Witte; a son-in-law Peter Bogoski; a brother Charles Lorenz; and two sisters: Josephine Perry and Lucille Paradise. Memorial contributions in honor of Alice may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church Building Fund.
