Alice C. Villarreal peacefully passed away on June 8, 2026. Born June 21, 1929 in Corpus Cristi, Texas, she was the daughter of Patricio Juanita (Ochoa) Contreras. Alice married her life long love, Gonzalo Villarreal, on October 4, 1945. Sadly he preceded her in death February 14, 2002. A dedicated wife and mother who enriched the lives of those around her. Alice spent time as a teacher’s aid within the Detroit school district. Alice lived a life full of love, community, and cherished pursuits.
Alice’s spirit was characterized by warmth and grace, qualities she carried through her lifelong commitment to her family and friends. Her passions extended beyond her home; she was an active member of the Taylor Senior Center, where she immersed herself in the joys of music and dancing and socializing. Alice’s zest for life shone through in her love of cooking, tackling crossword puzzles, and playing bingo—all activities that brought her happiness and often a smile to others, but her most treasured times were those spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is lovingly remembered by her children: Mary Alice Parizon (Walter), Clementina (Michael Dean) Lauziere, Arturo (Maureen) Villarreal, Caroline (Riccardo) Serrentino, and Ricardo (Cathy) Villarreal, and her remaining
sibling Humberto “Wimpy” Contreras. Alice's legacy lives on beautifully in her many grandchildren, who carry forward her warmth and kindness.
