Angelo died peacefully at Aspen Grove Senior Living Center in Lambertville, Michigan on March 7, 2026. Angelo was a 74-year resident of South Rockwood, Michigan where he and his wife raised their children and enjoyed their grandchildren. His 100-year life began in 1925 in Xaghra, a historic village on the island of Gozo, Malta. He often reminisced of his childhood there; playing bocce ball, exploring caves, hunting small game with his dog, and walking to church with his mother, and to get bread baked and many other mischievous things children get into. He was fond of his donkey who pulled a wagon. As a young man, he sold oil for lamps and traded eggs from the family farm for necessities. He once found a German parachute from a plane during WWII and had a jacked made from it. He spoke often about the American soldiers. They brought him and the other children candy and bicycles after the war’s end.

Angelo came to America in 1948 aboard Polish passenger ship, MS Sobieski. His beginnings were in Detroit, Michigan but soon fell in love with Loretta Brower who lived in the country village of South Rockwood, MI. They were married in 1952 at St. Paul Maltese Catholic Church in Detroit. He was naturalized as an American Citizen in 1954. Angelo was a devout Catholic and a long-standing member of St. Roch Catholic Church in Flat Rock, MI. Palm Sunday was especially fascinating because he had a talent of making beautiful crosses from the palms. He awas an active member in the community who know many people. Angelo retired from Chrysler Trenton Engine Plant in 1979. He was initiated into the Knights of Columbus Council #1266 in Monroe on March 1, 1979 and was their Grand Knight between July 1, 1989 – June 30, 1991. During the same dates he was the Faithful Navigator of the River Raisin Assembly #0488. As a K of C member, he worked Fish Frys, operated council Bingo, participated in Goodfellows, and was on council’s bowling league. After retirement from Chrysler, he continued to stay busy repairing lawn mowers at Lecker’s in 1980’s. He was also talented in the hobby of caning stools and chairs. He and wife Loretta went to Frankenmuth every year. He had a green thumb. He started seeds in his greenhouse and maintained a large garden every year. He grew beautiful vegetable, for which he had an affinity. Angelo enjoyed eating tomatoes, but his favorite by far was hot peppers.

Angelo loved food. He took the time to really enjoy his meals. He appreciated every little thing in life. He also loved land and he loved to farm. He spent most of his days outdoors, tending to soybean and corn fields or chatting with neighbors that swung by. He enjoyed rabbit hunting with several dogs he had raised. Although he didn’t prefer cats, he had a special lap cat for many years who loved him named KitKat. Angelo enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. His grandkids spent much of their early lives at his home. It was like a second home to them. Angelo was young at heart and was heavily involved in their lives. He had a big heart and would help anyone that needed it. He was humbled when others helped him.

Angelo was devoted to the Lord during his 100 years on this earth and most definitely had wonderful homecoming when he got to Heaven.

He was preceded in death by his Mother and Father, his loving wife Loretta, son Raymond and Anne _Raymon’s wife), sisters Victoria and Eucaristica, brothers Joseph, Emanuel, Salvatore, Frank, Augustine and Pau.
