Ann Moody, a remarkable woman whose life was a tapestry of devotion, service, and boundless love, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on January 16, 1939, Ann was a nurturing mother and an accomplished registered nurse, dedicating her professional and personal life to those she held dear.

Ann spent many years working at Outer Drive Hospital, ultimately finishing her nursing career at Wyandotte General (Henry Ford Hospital). All the while, she embraced her role as a loving mother, raising five wonderful children: Rebecca (Dan) Lewis, Thomas Moody, Phyllis (Ken) Mrozek, Karen (Sam) Sisler, and Raymond (Ann Marie) Moody. Ann’s unwavering support fueled their dreams and aspirations, as she worked hard to encourage all five to graduate from college. Her dedication extended beyond the classroom; she was an active room mom, a sports booster, and a devoted Girl Scout leader, always fostering a sense of community and family spirit.

Beyond her professional and parental duties, Ann was known for her keen sense of humor and sarcastic wit. She often brought laughter to those around her, enriched by close bonds with her siblings, especially her younger sister, Mary. Together, they shared cherished experiences working as ushers at the Fox Theatre in Detroit and being active members of the Kiwanis Club, where they spread joy and kindness to others in their community.

Ann's talents were as diverse as her interests. A fantastic cook, she was widely celebrated for her delicious baked goods, especially her famous peanut butter cookies, Texas Sheet Cake, fruit pies, Christmas cookies, fudge, and stained glass candy. Her sewing skills were unmatched, as she lovingly quilted PJs for family camping trips and created the most memorable Halloween costumes. Ann found joy in physical activity, enjoying bowling, tennis, walking, biking, and golf, which she often played with her loved ones. It was in these moments that she thrived, surrounded by friends and family, forming bonds that would last a lifetime.

Travel held a special place in Ann's heart, as she created lasting memories with her cherished sisters  Mary, Pauline, and Dorothy. Whether adventuring together or catching up with high school and college classmates over coffee and treats, Ann was a social butterfly, the self-proclaimed "coffee queen," always sharing snacks and laughter with those she loved.

As a grandmother and great-grandmother, Ann's legacy continues through her beloved grandchildren: Jackie, Megan, Sean, Andrew, Jacob, Madison, William, Taylor, and Matthew, along with her great-grandchildren, Olivia, Isabelle, Mason, and Harrison. She always supported each of their endeavors and celebrated every achievements. Each of them carries a piece of Ann's spirit and the values she instilled in them.

Ann was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Gerald Moody, and her siblings, John and Ruth, who have welcomed her into the embrace of eternity. She leaves behind her loving children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who will forever cherish her memory.

Ann Moody's life was a reflection of love, strength, and unwavering commitment. Her legacy will continue to inspire those she touched, reminding us all to embrace life with humor, kindness, and a spirit of community.
