Anna M. Hackney

Anna Merl Hackney, age 88, passed away on January 17, 2021 at Beaumont Hospital, Trenton, MI. She was loved by many especially her family. Anna was a native of Kentucky and was born January 5, 1933 to the late Horace Allen and Nora Elkins. She moved to Detroit, Michigan in 1951 for her late husband, Willis Anderson Hackney, to work in the automobile industry. She called Detroit home for many years until she passed. Anna is survived by her daughter Cynthia “Cindy” (Lloyd) Range of Douglasville, GA, her son Richard “Ricky” of Woodhaven, MI, her niece MaryAnn Satterfield of Melvindale, MI, 4 grandchildren Stacey (Jimmy) Range-Kelly of Temple, GA, Amanda Hackney of Woodhaven, MI, Kelly (Jamie) Grimshaw of Temple, GA and Deanna Hackney of Detroit, MI, 8 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Anna was preceded in death by her son Robert William Hackney, grandson Robert John Hackney, her sisters and brothers. Anna gave her all to her family and always put everyone first before herself. She retired in 1978 from AJM packing company in Detroit, MI. Ann has a beautiful soul who was very close to her sister Jenny and Gertie. Ann could be serious, but she could get funny and silly in a moment’s notice. Anna loved dancing the Jitterbug, Twist, etc., with her daughter. She was her daughter and sons’ best friend who they went to for everything and they knew they could go to her for anything. She will be missed by many and she left behind so many wonderful memories with her family.
