A beautiful soul left this Earth on November 11, 2024. Barbara Lawson, 80 of Riverview, MI went home to be with the Lord after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Barbara was born on September 1, 1944 in Boons Camp, Ky to Ora and Sarah (Perry) Daniels. Barbara married the love of her life, Herschel Denver Lawson on July 3, 1963 and lived a happy long 53 years together until he proceeded her in death on December 30, 2016.
She retired from Roush Enterprises Inc. where she was the Supervisor of Housekeeping. Barbara loved gardening, canning, cooking, baking and loved to give pints of her delicious salsa as gifts. She also loved to crotchet, needlepoint and
quilting. She loved to travel to see family and to go on family camping trips or road trips. Local parks were another one of her favorite destinations. She often time would go daily just to see what wildlife she could see that day. Barbara loved her family most of all. Her kids and grand kids were her everything. She loved to make holiday’s special for her family and always hosted Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve.
Barbara had a gift of making everyone feel special and a part of her family. Her door
was always open. Although she did not drive, she was there for anyone in need. She
loved to laugh and to be silly. Her smile always lit up the room and she always had
the best hugs.
Barbara was a woman of great strength and faith. She fought her illness with grace
and grit. She constantly prayed to Jesus to be with her through every test, procedure
or treatment and He was with her every step of the way. Barbara will greatly be
missed by everyone who knew her. We take comfort in knowing that she is reunited
with her beloved husband, and she now walks with our Lord and Savior. We will meet
her again on God’s Golden Shore.
Barbara is survived by her children Herschel (Jeannie) Lawson, Laura Lawson,
Shanna (Jim) Baker and grandchildren Mikayla Buchko, Noah Lawson, Shayla Jones,
Emily Lund and Brandon Baker and great grandchildren Hendrix Lund and Lennon
Lund.
