Barbara Meekins, born on August 8, 1939, was a shining light to all who knew her. She passed away peacefully on July 11, 2025, in Dearborn, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. As an operator at AT&T, Barbara dedicated herself to her work, showcasing both skill and unwavering commitment throughout her career.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Barbara embraced life with a vibrant spirit and a love for the simple pleasures. She had a special affinity for gambling, thrilling at the occasional exhilaration of the Wonder Woman slot machine. Her enthusiasm extended to shopping, where she found joy in browsing through the vast offerings of QVC and, more recently, exploring the marvels of Amazon.

Barbara's greatest joys came from her family. She was a beloved mother to her sons, Michael (Tina) and Joseph, who along with their families, will carry her memory with them always. Barbara took immense pride in her grandchildren: Stephanie, Jacob, Zachary, Tyler, Christopher, and Joseph, each of whom brought her immense happiness and joy in their unique ways. Family gatherings were often filled with laughter, stories, and the warmth of strong bonds that Barbara nurtured with love.

She was also a cherished sister to Ruthann and Ralph, who will hold her memory close to their hearts. As an aunt, Barbara's influence was felt by many nieces and nephews who treasured the memories they shared with her.

Barbara is reunited in rest with her loving parents, Edward and Jeanette Dobies, who she adored deeply. Their legacy continues on through the wonderful family that Barbara cultivated and cherished throughout her life.
