Bernice Sandusky

With hearts full of both sorrow and gratitude, we remember and celebrate the life of Bernice Sandusky, who passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on June 6, 1949, Bernice’s journey through life was one marked by courage, faith, and a deep, unwavering devotion to those she loved.

Bernice was the beloved wife of the late Arbie "Ted" Sandusky, who preceded her in death, and the cherished daughter of Joseph and Bernice Wines, whose memory she carried close throughout her days. From an early age, Bernice was shaped by their love and by a strong sense of family that became her guiding force and her greatest joy.

A woman of enduring faith, Bernice was a devoted parishioner at both St. Mary Annunciation Catholic Church and St. Cyprian Catholic Church. Her steadfast spirituality was evident in the way she lived her life—with kindness, humility, and generosity that reached far beyond the pews. She nurtured her family, friends, and community with the warmth and hope she carried in her heart, always placing the needs and happiness of others above her own.

Family was, in every sense, the center of Bernice’s world. She was the loving and supportive mother of Jacqueline Wilkins and Theodore Sandusky, whom she guided with gentle wisdom and unwavering support. Her role as grandmother to Brendan Sandusky, Lauren Wilkins, and Mikelle Murphy brought her immense pride and boundless love—memories of laughter and guidance that her grandchildren will cherish throughout their lives. Bernice was also blessed to see her family grow to another generation, adoring her great-grandson, Oliver Sandusky, who brought her joy in her later years.

Those who knew Bernice well remember her generous heart and selfless nature—she was family-oriented in every fiber of her being and would always put her loved ones first. Whether celebrating milestones or providing quiet strength in difficult times, she was a steady presence and a source of comfort for those lucky enough to be part of her life.
