Bill Gilroy

Gilroy, William (Bill); age 77, of Trenton. August 9, 2017. Beloved husband of Joan Gilroy. Loving father of Mark (Sarah) and Kimberly. Proud grandfather of Will, Kyle, Annie, and Kate. Cherished brother of LaVerne Harless and the late Dave and Joe Gilroy. Beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. Will be missed by brother-in-laws Bill and Dan, sister-in-laws Pat and Carol and additional family members Jerry Jagod, Betty Jagod, Beverly Hudgins, Debbie Nowosielski, Larry Pawlowski, Diane Pawlowski, Rosemary Rinn, Gary Simko and Bob Watson. Bill was a proud Marine and active member of his community. Bill will be deeply missed by all of his extended family and friends of the Swan Boat club where he served as Commodore in 1997 and Commodore of the Associated Yacht Clubs in 2005. He was also past president of the Blue Gavel, past member of the Brownstown Recreation Commission, and coached numerous youth athletic teams over the years. Bill was an avid bowler and enjoyed outdoor sports especially fishing and boating. He was very athletic. Growing up he excelled in swimming, track and football. While attending Hamtramck High School, he set many swimming records. He went on to play football while serving in the Marines.
