Bill Junge, of Pigeon, Michigan, passed away peacefully in his sleep April 9, 2021. He was born in Dearborn, Michigan in 1951 to Marjorie and Orville Junge. He is a brother to Lynn (Fred) Bisaro, Lee (Cathy) Junge, Lisa (Norm) Blaskay, and Jeff (Tera) Junge. August 2, 1969, he married Amy Grant. They brought four children into this world, Karie (Aaron) Rowan, Billy (Andrea) Junge Jr., the late Jimmy (Mariah) Junge and Krissy Junge. Bill was proud of his grandchildren: Kyle Rowan, Megan Rowan, William Junge III, Graham Junge, Jaden Junge, Coleton Junge, Meadow James Junge and Landon Estep. He was a 1969 graduate of Shafer High School in Southgate, MI. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee. In 1999, he retired after 30 years from Ford Motor Company as an Area Manager at The Woodhaven Stamping Plant. 22 years later he retired again from Tower Automotive as the Plant Manager in Elkton Michigan. Bill enjoyed what he called “meetings at the library” (The Hitching Post) where William “Wallace” would enjoy the company of friends whom he considered family. He had a passion for fishing. He often joked he was born weighing 22 pounds 4 ounces, which coincidentally was the world record for the largest largemouth bass. This love for fishing led to him starting an annual family fishing trip, The Great Southern Bass Open. This trip includes friends and family from the north and the south. It is still running strong after 42 years. He was a big man with a big heart. He will be remembered as a father figure to so many more then just his children. He lit up a room with his outgoing personality and larger than life presence. We all wish he could stick around for “Just one More!” Due to the covid restrictions a service and celebrations of life for Bill will take place sometime this summer, the date and time will be determined. In lieu of flowers, Bill would want you to have a cocktail in honor of him.
