Bob Turner, 73, of Trenton, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026.
Bob was born on July 8th, 1952, in Grosse Pointe, Mi to Vernon and Helen Turner. He spent his career as a Robotics Engineer, a title that fit him perfectly. Bob had the kind of mind that just worked differently. He could look at a problem, turn it over once or twice, and come up with a solution nobody else would have thought of.
That engineering brain of his didn't shut off when he left work either. He was always tinkering at something, and if something at home needed fixing, Bob would find a way to get it done. But what people will remember most about Bob is the kind of man he was in a room. When he was around people, he came alive. He was a talker and a storyteller; the type of person who made you feel like you'd known him for years even if you'd just met him. He never met a stranger, and he had a way of pulling people into a conversation that made everyone feel welcome.
Bob married the love of his life, Cherryl, in 2015, and the two of them built something special together. Every morning, they had a little game of who could say "I love you more" first when they woke up. It was a small thing, but it said everything about the way they loved each other.
When Bob wasn't tinkering on something around the house, you could usually find him watching the news or catching a Lions, Tigers, or Michigan football game on TV. He was a Detroit fan through and through. He also had a sweet tooth that never quit. Carrot cake and butterscotch pudding were his favorites, but he wasn't going to turn down much of anything sweet. And there was almost always a Bud Light within arm's reach.
Bob is survived by his wife Cherryl, 2 children Michael, and Travis, 3 stepchildren Jonathan Tom, and Billy, 1 grandchild Dalila, Brother Don, wife Susan, sister Cheryl and husband John. He was preceded in death by father Vernon, Mother Helen and sister Diane.
Visitation will take place at The Trenton Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm. A funeral service will take place the following morning at the funeral home at 11:00 am.
