Bobby Spears

Bobby Spears, a beloved member of the community and a dedicated family man, passed away peacefully at his home in Dearborn on October 4, 2025, at the age of 97. Born on August 2, 1928, in Elkhorn City, Kentucky, he was the son of Roland and Mary (Swiney) Spears, and stepson of Ron Conley Bobby lived a life rich in experience, devotion, and love.

Bobby married the love of his life, Bonnie Lewis, on September 13, 1948. Sadly she preceded him in death November 12, 2007. For many years, Bobby was known for his steady work ethic as part of the production team at the General Motors Cadillac Plant. His commitment to his career was mirrored in the values he embedded in his family—a strong sense of responsibility and an unwavering dedication to those he loved.

Bobby’s life was not solely defined by his work; he cherished the time he spent with his family and friends. He is survived by his dear daughters, Donna (Butch) Durdin and Bobbie (Rick) Flannary, and his son, Jim (Lori) Spears; 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, as well as his long-time friend and companion, Ann Peeler, was also a significant part of his life, providing joy and companionship during their shared years together.

In addition to his wife, Bobby faced the loss of his beloved parents, daughter Linda Willbanks, granddaughter Lisa Willbanks and three siblings with grace, carrying their memories close to his heart. Despite the trials of life, he found solace and camaraderie as a devoted member of the Masons and Shriners, where he made lasting friendships and gave back to the community he cherished.

Bobby Spears will be deeply missed—not just for his presence, but for the warmth of his spirit and the love he offered freely to all those fortunate enough to know him. Rest in peace, dear Bobby. Your legacy of love and kindness will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those you touched.
