Bruce E. Bohr, a devoted guardian of the children and a cherished member of the Trenton community, passed away on May 3, 2026. Born on February 22, 1955, Bruce’s life was characterized by unwavering dedication, a vibrant love for those around him, and an enduring passion for many interests that enriched both his life and the lives of those who knew him.

For many years, Bruce was a familiar and reassuring presence at the intersection of Boxford and Harrison, at Anderson Elementary School. As a crossing guard for Trenton Schools, he took his responsibility seriously—never missing a day—ensuring the safety and well-being of countless children on their daily journeys. His commitment to the welfare of the community’s youth was steadfast, reflecting a deep sense of care and vigilance that extended beyond his professional role.

Beyond his work, Bruce was a man of wide-ranging talents and interests. He was a master gardener and horticulturalist, whose knowledge and hands-on expertise brought growth and beauty to every garden he touched. His fascination with marine biology revealed his love of nature and the mysteries of the underwater world. A tenacious bowler, Bruce enjoyed the sport not just as exercise but as a friendly challenge. He also had a keen appreciation for classical Hollywood films, culture, and memorabilia, relishing the stories and artistry of a bygone era. After a rewarding day spent tending to his yard, he found joy in the kitchen, crafting new culinary dishes with creativity and care, sharing his love of good food with family and friends.

Bruce’s personality radiated warmth and appreciation for those around him. He deeply valued his friends, co-workers, and family, nurturing bonds with kindness and sincerity. Among those who survive him are his brothers Steve, Greg, Chris, Tim (Vicky), and Larry (Lisa), as well as his sisters Debbie (Michael) and Julie (Dale). He is also remembered fondly by his close friend and co-worker Lawanda Jones, many nieces and nephews, and other family members who continue to honor his memory.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Kenneth Bohr and Paula Bohr, whose legacy he carried forward through his dedication and kindness.

To celebrate Bruce’s life, a visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at The Trenton Chapel - Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, located at 3200 West Rd, Trenton, MI 48183. This will be followed by a funeral service at 3:30 pm.
