Carl Howton

Carl was born on July 16, 1926 in Jasper, Alabama and died on May 1, 2017 at his home in Lincoln Park; he was 90 years old. Beloved husband of the late Patricia Joan. Loving father of John, Jeffrey and the late Cheryl Samu. Dearest long-time companion of Patricia Kopp. Also survived by two brothers Earl (Doris) and Clyde (Tommie Jean) as well as other loving family and friends. Preceded in death by his parents Louis and Hassie (nee: Whisenhunt) Howton, two brothers John B and JD and one sister Gaynell O'Rear. Carl was a hardworking man who took excellent care of his family and he had great work ethic; Carl proudly served his Country in the United States Army and he retired from Great Lakes Steel after forty years of service. His family was his love in life and he also loved hunting, travel and playing cards with his friends. Visitation is on Friday from 4 – 9 pm at The Allen Park Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 10915 Allen Rd. (Corner of Godard). The funeral service is Saturday 2 pm at the funeral home.
