It is with great sadness and heartfelt reverence that we announce the passing of Carlotta Sue Slusher, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and cherished friend. Born on November 3, 1955, in Wyandotte, she was the daughter of Herman Kenske and Adele (Vincent) and Bill Hoffman. Carlotta peacefully departed this life on May 13, 2026, in Taylor, at her home surrounded by her family and her loving dog, Lottie. Her life was a testament to love, faith, and unwavering dedication to her family.
Carlotta married the love of her life, Robert Slusher, on March 11, 1983. She devoted her life as a dedicated homemaker, the heart and soul of her family. Her days were filled with boundless care and nurturing, creating a warm and loving home that embraced all who entered. Her passions were many, and among them, she found joy and fulfillment in quilting intricate patterns that told stories of their own, growing beautiful roses that brightened her surroundings, and cooking delicious meals that brought loved ones together around the table. These simple pleasures were expressions of her generous spirit and deep love for those she held dear.
A faithful member of Gethsemane Baptist Church, Carlotta’s spiritual devotion was a cornerstone of her identity. Her faith was a guiding beacon, grounding her through life’s challenges and inspiring all who knew her with her steadfast trust and compassion.
Carlotta’s family was everything to her. She shared a loving partnership with her husband, Robert, whose unwavering support was a source of strength and comfort throughout their years together. She was a proud and nurturing mother to her children: Robert (Melissa) Slusher Jr., Eugene (Nikki) Loggie, Kathryn (Eddie) Reed, and Jennifer (John) Jones. Her legacy blossomed further through her eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, each a precious reminder of her enduring love and influence.
She is survived by her siblings, Gary Kenske and Bill (Donna) Kenske. She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as two brothers, Bob Diel and Donald Kenske.
Carlotta’s memory will forever remain a treasured part of the fabric of those who loved her. Her warmth, faith, and gentle spirit will continue to inspire and guide her family and friends in the days ahead. Though she is no longer with us in body, her legacy of love and devotion endures eternally in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
