Carol A. Cassette

Listen to Obituary

Carol Ann (Zavicar) Cassette was born on July 29, 1947 to Carl and Margery Zavicar. She grew up in Allen Park, MI, attending st. Francis Cabrini schools. She came from a large family, and was close growing up with her siblings and cousins. After high school, she started working, and met her future husband Terry, at Lincoln park McDonald’s. They got married just after Carol's 20th birthday, on August 11, 1967, and went on their honeymoon to the Bahamas. Their first son, Christopher Terry, was born in 1968, followed by their daughter Gina Marie in 1970, son Kevin Anthony in 1973, and daughter Melisa Lynn in 1981.

Carol dedicated herself to raising her family, and was often found in ice rinks and basketball courts, watching her children play the sports that they loved. Later on, Carol was blessed with grandchildren, and was very involved in their lives as well. Her later years were spent spending time with them, attending their sporting and school events, vacationing with the families, and enjoying holidays and evenings together. Her favorite vacation spots were Florida Disney, California Disney, and Las Vegas, and even Hawaii! Most recently, she was blessed with 6 great grandchildren, and enjoyed watching them grow. Carol enjoyed reading, watching the boats in Wyandotte, talking to her friends and cousins on the phone, and watching sports on TV.

Carols husband Terry passed away in 2021, and she missed him deeply. Her eldest son Chris passed away in 2018. Carol is survived by her children Gina Cassette, Kevin (Mary) Cassette, Melisa (Paul) Hussey, daughter in law Benita Cassette. Grandchildren Zack Cassette, Anthony (Kacy) Cassette, Ashely Bogard, Marisa (Steven) Tocco, Jessica Ledbetter, Kacey Cassette, Katie Cassette, Kelly Cassette, Aiden Hussey, and Logan Hussey.
