Carol Elizabeth (Channer) Tomcheson, 90, of Lincoln Park, Michigan, passed away following surgery on January 25, 2021. Carol was born on April 10, 1930, to Harold and Grace (Sprunk) Channer in Detroit, Michigan. She married the late Richard Tomcheson in 1950 and moved to Lincoln Park, Michigan in 1952 after living in Stockton, California, on a Navy base in a Quonset hut. Carol would share many fond memories about that Quonset hut. Carol met the late Robert Danes in 1977 and was a devoted loving companion until his death in 2016. Carol was a lifelong parishioner of Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Church. She helped found the Christian Mothers at the parish, volunteered to visit the sick, and involved in various groups within the church such as grief sharing and bible study. Carol made a great many close devoted friends through the church over the years. Carol is survived by two of her children: James Tomcheson, Mary Hawk; son-in-law Roy Tiffin; six grandchildren: Christopher Hawk, Matthew Hawk, Angela Tomcheson, Michael Jasinski, Elizabeth Hawk, James (Autumn) Tomcheson; eight great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Regina Tomczeszyn; other loving family members and close friends. Carol is preceded in death by her daughter Margaret "Peggy" (Roy) Tiffin, parents, Harold and Grace (Sprunk) Channer; sister, Shirley (Channer) Johnson; brother Harold Channer, and longtime companion, Robert Danes. A private grave-side service will be held at Roseland Cemetery in Berkeley, Michigan, on Monday, February 1, 2021. A memorial mass will be held at a later determined date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, in Carol's memory.
