Carol Joy Stewart passed away on March 11, 2026, at age 87. She fought a
challenging and painful illness with courage and strength. In her final moments she found peace and comfort holding the hands of her loving children. Carol was born and raised in Trenton, MI. She married James E.Stewart and they raised a family of five children. Carol’s greatest accomplishments were her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She is survived by her children: William (Dawn) Stewart, Kimberly (Greg) Wiseman, Dawn(Roger) Brown, James (Heather) Stewart, Stacey Stewart; grandchildren: Andrea(Matthew) McGrew, Melissa (Steve) Koehn, William Robert Stewart, Brandon (Allyson) Brown, Luke (Marlana) Brown, Shannon Brown; and great grandchildren: Masen McGrew, Bennett McGrew, Sloane McGrew, Max Koehn, Ember Brown, Mabel Faye Bell, Caitlin White, Joshua White, Caleb White as well as several nieces and nephews.In addition to being a home maker she enjoyed working as a school bus driver for the Gibraltar School District for over 25years. She was a faithful Christian and a long time member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Flat Rock. She enjoyed playing cards,visiting with friends, shopping and was a Judge Judy fan. Carol was preceded in death by her husband James E. Stewart, her parents John and Elsie Labo, sisters Janet and Joyce, and brothers Howard, Robert, John, and Donald,and many of her lifelong friends. May Carol rest in peace and rise in glory!
