Carolyn Martini, born Carolyn Maner on June 28, 1945, in Savannah, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 12, 2026 in Riverview, Michigan at the age of 80. She leaves behind a legacy woven through the lives she touched, both personally and professionally.

A longtime, award-winning guidance and drug abuse counselor, Carolyn dedicated her life to helping others navigate the complexities of addiction with compassion and understanding. Her wit and humor made her a beloved figure in her community, as she approached her work with a blend of professionalism and relatable warmth that often shifted the narrative of recovery toward hope and possibility.

Carolyn’s proudest accomplishments were her children, Dawn (Ted) Lazoun and Scott (Renee Scamp) Balsdon, for whom she was a constant source of love and guidance. As a grandmother, she cherished every moment with her grandchildren, Angel (Brad) and Crystal, pouring her heart into their lives as they grew. The joy of being a great-grandmother to Constantine, Grayson, and Amelia was incomparable, and her spirit will live on in them through the values she instilled and the laughter they shared.

She is survived by her beloved sisters, Norma (Howard) Tomlinson and Debbie (Donnie), who will forever carry the memories of sibling adventures, heartfelt conversations, and countless treasured moments. Carolyn's essence was not diminished by her pain; instead, her humor and laughter flourished amidst challenges, reminding those around her of the power of resilience.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her cherished sisters, Cindy and Pat, who await her in a tranquil embrace. Their memories endure, highlighting the love and bond shared throughout their lives.
