Carolyn Stephanie Troyan (Piorkowski), born March 12, 1959, in Dearborn, Michigan, passed peacefully at her residence in New Boston, Michigan, on March 16, 2026. A beacon of warmth and love throughout her life, Carolyn’s heart was rooted firmly in her devotion to her family. She was a caring homemaker whose presence enriched every gathering and brought comfort to all who knew her. She was lovingly known as “Booba,” a name that meant so much to her family and the grandchildren who adored her.

Carolyn devoted many years as a loving and steadfast caretaker to her husband, Robert, tending to him with unwavering compassion and strength. Through life’s many trials, she carried herself with quiet resilience and grace. No matter what she herself—or anyone else—was going through, Carolyn always kept an open heart and an open home, welcoming others without judgment and offering kindness freely. Even in the face of hardship, she remained deeply positive, holding fast to her love for the Lord and maintaining a strong and enduring faith.

From the earliest days, Carolyn’s tender spirit shone brightest in the everyday joys of home—whether crafting a delicious meal or enveloping those around her with unconditional love. She had a rare gift of making everyone feel welcomed, loved, and at home the moment they walked through her door. If she were ever at your house, your laundry would be washed and folded, your dishes done, and your floors left clean—her way of caring for others without ever needing to be asked. Her kindness was magnetic; she made friends easily wherever she went, scattering seeds of love that blossomed into lasting friendships. Her generosity and compassion left an indelible mark on all who crossed her path.

Carolyn found solace and delight in a myriad of arts and crafts, and she cherished the simple pleasures of watching birds and squirrels. She loved all animals and held a special place in her heart for her grand-dogs, who brought her endless joy and comfort as well as a special love for cardinals whom she often said she believed were messengers—gentle signs of our lost loved ones visiting us, bringing comfort and a sense of connection. Carolyn had a deep love for travel, music, and nature, and she was happiest when she could enjoy all three at once—soaking in the beauty of the world around her while surrounded by the sounds she loved.

She had a special joy for shopping when it meant finding small, thoughtful gifts for those she loved. Whether near or far, she delighted in giving little tokens of affection so others would always know how deeply she cared. Wherever Carolyn went, she brought her warmth with her. Those who spent time with her always wished they could keep her close, but she made it a point to travel from place to place, sharing her time, her love, and her light with everyone fortunate enough to be part of her life.

Carolyn had a way of leaving people better than she found them. She often told others to “have a blessed day,” wanting everyone she encountered to feel uplifted and cared for. She encouraged those around her not to let negativity bring them down and lived by a strong, determined mindset, often saying God was always by her side and that she would never go down without a fight—a reflection of the faith, strength and courage she carried throughout her life.

Her family, her truest love, carries forward her legacy. She is survived by her beloved children: Robert (Christina), Jacob (Katie), Peter, Tanya (James), and Tricia (Pedro). Her cherished grandchildren—Tyler, Mariah, Skylar, Jacob Jr., Logan, Violet, Aliza, Aidan, Luke, Caleb, and Rozalia—and one great-grandchild bear witness to the depth of her nurturing spirit. Carolyn also leaves behind her devoted siblings Barbara, Sandra, and Kenneth, along with many loving family members and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close. Her many grand-dogs will dearly miss her gentle and comforting presence.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, who passed in 2010; her siblings Dennis, Richard, and Leo; and her loving parents, Steven and Betty Lou (Mardis) Piorkowski. Their love and memories remain forever intertwined with hers, a testament to a life deeply cherished and well-lived.

A visitation to celebrate Carolyn’s enduring spirit will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at The Ridge Chapel - Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 2272 W.
