Catherine Elizabeth Butcher

With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Catherine Elizabeth Butcher on November 2, 2025, at the age of 60. Born on August 3, 1965 in Detroit, Catherine was the daughter of Ruben and Catherine (Bowen) Cavazos, she dedicated her life to being a devoted homemaker, nurturing her family, and creating an environment filled with love and warmth. Her commitment to her loved ones was unparalleled, and her greatest joy came from the treasured moments spent with them.

Catherine married the love of her life, Ronnie Butcher, on October 11, 1989. Her family was her world. She is survived by her loving husband, Ronnie Butcher, as well as her three daughters: Heather (David) Cornwell, Megan (William Freeman) Butcher, and Chelsea (Lucus Steiner) Butcher. The love they shared was evident to all who knew them, and it was a bond that deepened every day. Catherine was also a proud grandmother to Leah, Gracie, Olivia, Jayden, and Ava, whose laughter and joy brought light to her life.

Born into a large, caring family, Catherine leaves behind her brothers, Matthew Cavazos, Robert (Janice) Cavazos, Christopher (Cheryl) Cavazos, Daniel (Tonya) Cavazos, and Ruben (Michele) Cavazos, as well as her sister, Theresa Cavazos. Together, they shared countless memories, supporting one another through life's challenges and celebrating its joys.

In this time of mourning, we remember Catherine not just for her passing but for the love, laughter, and light she brought into our lives. She will be forever cherished and remembered.
