Charles "Chuck" Baker, born on March 11, 1950, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2026, in Riverview, Michigan, surrounded by his loving family. His departure leaves a profound emptiness in the hearts of all who knew him.
Chuck dedicated a significant portion of his life to his career, having retired from Monsanto, where he was regarded for his diligent work ethic and commitment. He proudly served in the United States Army, embodying the values of service and dedication throughout his life.
A passionate sports enthusiast, Chuck loved all Detroit sport teams and cherished the memories he made as a younger athlete. His love for sports was matched by his joy in spending time at home, often in control of the television remote, bringing laughter to the room with his clever one-liners. He had a quiet reserve that belied a warm, humorous spirit that endeared him to many.
Above all, Chuck's family was his proudest accomplishment. He shared a lifelong bond of love and partnership with his wife, Therese (Ariganello) Baker, whom he married on September 14, 1973. Together, they raised a beautiful family, which includes his beloved children: Anthony (Erin) Baker, Angela Baker (Eric Evans), Elizabeth Baker, and Chrissie (Colleen) Baker. He was a cherished "Papa" to his grandchildren: Isabel, Allison, Emma, Calin, Scout, Dodge, Ali, Nora, and Danyel, who brought him immense joy and pride.
Chuck is also survived by his nieces, nephews, and a host of other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Baker and Mildred (Williamson), his brothers and sisters.
