Charles is survived by his son, Patrick (Nannette), and his daughter, Cristina Smith, along with his cherished grandchildren, Miranda (Thomas) and Ian. His legacy extends to his great-grandchildren, Harper, Lilian, Maia and Elianna. Charles is further remembered fondly by his brother Dwayne and his spouse Jeannie, his sisters Patricia and her spouse Dan, as well as Catherine and her spouse Jerry. Kate, his sister-in-law, remains among those who mourn his loss. Many nieces and nephews will remember him with affection. Charles is predeceased by his brothers, Jim and Joe.

Throughout his life, Charles embodied a spirit of service and fellowship. He served as a clerk in the United States Army, demonstrating his dedication to his country and his sense of duty. Beyond his professional contributions, he was known for a range of hobbies and interests that enriched both his life and the lives of those around him. An avid basketball and football enthusiast, Charles was a loyal supporter of the Indianapolis Colts and Dallas Cowboys. His passion for sports was especially evident in the joy he found watching his grandchildren compete and succeed in their own athletic endeavors.

Charles possessed an enduring love for audiobooks and reading westerns, which offered him both entertainment and relaxation. His commitment to his faith was reflected in his faithful church attendance, and he delighted in the companionship of his beloved dog, Bella, whose presence brought him great comfort.

In all aspects of his life, Charles was a source of steadfast support, wisdom, and compassion for his family and friends. His devotion to those he loved was unwavering, and his warmth left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to have known him.
