Charles Joseph Pate, of Taylor, passed away on August 3, 2022 at the age of 74. He was the loving husband of Lynda Pate for 58 years. Along with his wife, he is also survived by his children Charles (Debbie) Pate Jr., Dean (Pam) Pate, Holly Himick, and Jason Pate (Kassandra); grandchildren Chuck, the late Jeremy, Emily, the late Justin, Alyssa, Madison, Isabel, and Leah; as well as his siblings Pat (Tim), Susie (Glen), Jeff (Cecilia), Linda (Mike), and Tom. Charles is preceded in death by his parents Charles Junior and Mary Louise Pate, and his brother Mike. Charles worked at the Chrysler Trenton Engine Plant for 37 years. He enjoyed woodworking, specifically crafting outdoor swings and gliders. He loved going up north and was always outdoors, whether it was listening to music in the garage (usually Bob Segar), doing yard work, or sitting on the patio, or fishing, you would always find him in his happiest state. Charles loved spending time with family and watching the Lions, Tigers, and University of Michigan Football. He loved and cherished the family dog, Winston. Charles had an outstanding work ethic and loved humor. In honor of Charles, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, The Wounded Warrior Project, or the Covenant House. All three of these organizations meant a great deal to Charles. The family of Charles Joseph Pate has entrusted the Trenton Chapel of the Martenson Family of Funeral Homes to arrange his cremation. There will be a private gathering for Charles’ family at his private residence.
