Charles Wesley McKenzie, a cherished father, devoted companion, and beloved friend, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025, in his hometown of Monroe. Born on September 23, 1956, he was the son of James and Clarice (Parker) McKenzie. Charles illuminated the lives of those around him with his warmth, kindness, and ever-present sense of humor.A graduate of Dundee High School, Charles dedicated over 24 years of his life to Lenawee Stamping, where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence, retiring in 2020. He proudly served his country in the Army, a testament to his deep-rooted love for family and country. Charles was married to Sophie Johnson on March 27, 1980.Charles was an avid golfer and cherished the time he spent on the greens, but nothing brought him more joy than being surrounded by his family. His passion for fishing was only rivaled by his love for spending precious moments with his grandchildren, a source of endless happiness for him. With 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, his legacy of love will continue to grow through them.He is survived by his beloved companion, Sophie McKenzie, and his children: Heidi (Brody Cole) Micheaux, Robert Micheaux, and Christopher (Rachel) Micheaux. Charles is also lovingly remembered by his siblings: Don (Marge) Parker, Wayne McKenzie, Mike McKenzie, Barb (Mike) Lesher and Robert (Marion) McKenzie. Sadly he was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings James Parker, Dennis McKenzie, William McKenzie and Virginia Redd, but his spirit and the memories he created will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
