Dr. Charles E. Owens, D.D.S., a respected figure in the dental community and a beloved family man, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2025, in Wyandotte, Michigan, at the age of 85. Born on October 5, 1939, in Detroit, Dr. Owens dedicated his life to both his professional pursuits and his family.
Dr. Owens built a successful career as a dentist, owning his own practice in Southgate, Michigan. His commitment to excellence and patient care was evident throughout his years of service and he proudly held the title of Former Director for the Michigan Dental Association, reflecting his deep engagement with the profession and his dedication to his peers.
In addition to his distinguished career, Dr. Owens served honorably in the United States Air Force, demonstrating his commitment to his country and community.
An avid boater and enthusiastic supporter of Michigan football, Dr. Owens cherished the moments spent tailgating at the Big House before games. He was a proud member of the Grosse Ile Golf and Country Club, where he enjoyed countless rounds of golf, and was also affiliated with the Grosse Ile Yacht Club, sharing his love for boating and the water with friends and family.
Dr. Owens is survived by his loving daughters, Susan, Jill, and Theresa; stepdaughters Jordan (Chira), Stacey, and Denise (James); and his grandchildren, Reece, Patrick, Jasmine, Andrew, Devin, Rachel, Annie, Nathaniel, and Wiley. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Brandon, Margaret, Chloe, and Molly, who brought immense joy to his life.
Dr. Owens leaves behind a legacy of dedication to his profession, a passion for life, and a deep love for his family that will always be remembered.
