A Tribute to Our Mother (Mama Bear)

Our mom, Charmaine, was the heart of our family. On February 11, 2026, after fighting bravely for four days following a motor vehicle accident, the Lord called her home. True to who she was, she fought until the very end — strong, faithful, and surrounded by the children, grandchildren, family, and pastors she loved so dearly.

Our mom was born on April 28, 1957, to Andrew and Violet Giasson. She was a proud First Nations Mohawk woman — a true warrior in every sense of the word. Strength ran through her veins, but so did compassion. She was fierce in love, fierce in faith, and fierce in protecting her family.

To us, she was more than “Mom.” She was our safe place. She was prayer covering. She was wisdom, laughter, correction, comfort, and unconditional love all wrapped into one beautiful soul.

Her faith in Jesus was the foundation of her life. She taught us what it meant to serve others, to forgive, to give even when you have little, and to love without limits. We watched her pour herself into church outreaches, children’s ministry, family gatherings, and even strangers who simply needed kindness. She didn’t just talk about God’s love — she lived it.

Family was everything to her. She never missed a soccer game, a school play, a birthday, or a concert. If we were there, she was there — cheering the loudest and showing up with a gift in hand. It didn’t matter if it was something simple or something special; what mattered was that it came from her heart. And that’s what we will miss the most — her heart.

Our mom’s potato salad and cheesecakes were famous at every gathering. She loved bingo nights, shopping trips, and spending time with her best cousin Lynn. But more than anything, she loved being surrounded by her children and grandchildren. That was her joy. That was her purpose.

She gave birth to four of us — Theresa, Jessica, Ramon, and Dominic — but she always said she was a mother of eight. She loved and raised Abby, Tayo, Monica, and Raquel as her own. To her, there was no “half.” There was only family.

She endured the heartbreaking loss of her sons Tayo and Ramon, yet even in grief, she remained strong in faith. That strength is something she passed down to all of us.

Today, we don’t just grieve our mother — we celebrate her legacy. A legacy of service. A legacy of faith. A legacy of generosity. A legacy of love.

We promise to carry forward what you taught us, Mom. To show up for each other. To pray for one another. To serve. To love boldly. To fight when life gets hard.Your legacy as a mother, grandmother, friend & disciple will endure, and your spirit will continue to inspire us all. In our hearts, you live on Mama, and we will forever honor the legacy of a remarkable woman who made a lasting impact on every soul you encountered on your journey thru life.

You were, and always will be, a beautiful reflection of God’s love.

We love you forever ❤️
