Christopher Papin

Christopher Papin passed away on June 19, 2026, at the age of 43. Born on October 5, 1982 in Detroit. Christopher lived a life marked by kindness, laughter, and a passion for the things and people he loved.

Christopher, fondly known to his friends as “Papin,” will be remembered for his unique spirit and unwavering dedication to those around him. With what many affectionately described as an “Old Hippie Soul,” Christopher brought warmth, humor, and a deep sense of camaraderie to everyone he met. He was known for his hard work and his willingness to lend a helping hand—qualities that made a lasting impression on both family and friends alike.

Christopher devoted his professional years to several places where his hard work was consistently evident. He contributed his efforts at B. Revard & Sons, brought his energy to Taco Bell, provided dedicated service as a cleaner at DTE, and worked in the kitchen at Tendercare. Through each role, Christopher was admired for his strong work ethic and positive presence.

Outside of his work, Christopher filled his life with pursuits that brought him joy. He had a deep love for riding motorcycles, a passion for fishing, and a keen interest in classic cars. Whether he was out skeet shooting or simply enjoying music, he found pleasure in life’s simple gifts. These hobbies were sources of many cherished memories, shared laughter, and good times among those closest to him.

Family was at the heart of Christopher’s world, and he treasured his time with loved ones. He is survived by his sister, Danielle (Michael) Nebehay; his two brothers, Robert D. (Blythe) Herman and Jeffrey Herman; his children, Christopher D. Papin Jr., Thomas Papin, Giavonna Papin, and Aurora Miller; his nephew, Dominic Tedora; his nieces, Gabriella Nebehay, Adriana Nebehay, Elizabeth McDonald, and Faith Vandevelde; and his nephew, Daniel Herman. Each of them now holds the memory of his love, humor, and steadfast presence.

Christopher was preceded in death by his mother, Karen Maria Herman; his father, David J. Papin; and his step-father, Robert J. Herman. Their memories now join his own, forever woven into the stories and hearts of those who remain.

All who knew Christopher will remember his extraordinary sense of humor and the happiness he brought into every room. Whether sharing a joke, helping a friend in need, or simply spending time with family, he embodied joy, generosity, and light.

A Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Christopher on July 25, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at UAW Local 723, located at 281 Detroit Ave, Monroe, MI 48162. Friends and family are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate the life of a remarkable man whose presence enriched so many lives.

Christopher’s memory will endure—in the laughter of his family, the friendships he cherished, and the vibrant legacy of kindness and joy he leaves behind.
