Clara Rodgers

Clara Rodgers, age 92 of South Rockwood, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2021. Born April 11, 1929 in Sneedville, Tennessee, Clara was the daughter of John and Dora (Gibson) Stapleton. Clara worked in the housekeeping department at Applewood Nursing Home for many years. She loved her job and her co-workers became friends for life. She was a member of Calvary Assembly of God in Brownstown and enjoyed listening to Pastor Richey. Clara was an expert seamstress and loved cooking, baking, gardening and traveling to Florida, but her most treasured times were those spent with her family. Clara leaves to cherish her memory her children: Rodney Rodgers, Michael Rodgers, Dale (Marianna Fultze) Rodgers and Roberta (Stephen Mislyan) Rodgers: a step-son Donald (Kathy) Rodgers; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren, as well as many other family and friends. She loved being "Gramma Clare" to Laura and Timothy and "Granny" to Sarenity, Anna and Scarlett. Sadly she was preceded in death by her parents and 7 siblings. She had a great sense of humor. Her smile and laugh will be greatly missed by many. A memorial to celebrate Clara's love of life will be held at a future date.
