Colin James Aronson, age 25, passed away on March 17, 2026, at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital in Wyandotte, Michigan. Born on January 4, 2001, in Trenton, Michigan, Colin was raised in the community he loved before recently making his home in Lincoln Park with his loving partner Lauren Rogal.
Colin was the beloved son of Paul and Tricia Aronson, and a devoted brother to Keith Aronson and Christopher Schimmel. He is also survived by his loving grandparents, Betty Aronson, David Aronson, and Judy Cemer, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins who held a special place in his life. Colin shared close bonds with his family and built meaningful, lasting connections with those fortunate enough to know him.
A 2019 graduate of Trenton High School, Colin followed his passion for cooking into a career as a chef, working at various restaurants throughout Detroit. He found joy in preparing meals for family and friends, using food as a way to bring people together and show his love.
Colin had a deep love for animals and shared his life with snake Butters, cats Aurora, Jupiter, and Leo, while also cherishing his dog Vinni. He was a devoted fan of the Detroit Tigers and enjoyed attending games whenever he could.
Known for his generous heart and kind spirit, Colin had a remarkable way of making others feel seen, valued, and appreciated. His wide, gracious smile could light up any room, and he made it a point to bring joy to those around him. He will be remembered for his warmth, his humor, and the genuine care he showed to everyone he met.
In his final act of generosity, Colin gave the gift of life. As a registered organ donor, he is anticipated to help save and improve the lives of multiple individuals across the country, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and selflessness. Though his life was tragically cut short, his spirit lives on in the lives he has touched and the lives he continues to save.
In honor of Colin, memorial donations may be made in his honor directly to Gift of Life Michigan, the Michigan Humane Society and 988 Lifeline.
“Very truly I tell you, unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.” – John 12:24
