Connie Sue was born on August 5, 1940 in Smithland, Kentucky and went Home to be with the Lord on March 31, 2021 at the age of 80; she was of Dearborn Heights. Cherished wife of 61 years to James. Loving mom of Cheryl (Jon) Isom, Carrie (Grady) Keck and Tom (Lisa) Shoemaker. Proud Mamaw of Drew (Leslie), the late Jonathon, Deanna (John), Anna (Carter) and Jacob. Connie is also known as Mamaw to her great grandchildren; Peyton, Andrew, Mason, Lucy and Sadie. Dearest sister of the late Rejoyce, Donna, Terry, Rhea and Ronnie. Also survived by many other loving family, Church family and her Saturday afternoon ladies. She was also preceded in death by her parents Wayne and Marie (nee: Camp bell) Doom. The Lord and Connie’s family were her love in life; she was their rock. Connie was a long-time member of the Wick Road Baptist Church in Taylor. Visitation is on Tuesday, April 6th, 2021 from 3 pm – 8 pm at The Allen Park Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 10915 Allen Rd. (Corner of Goddard). Connie will lie in state on Wednesday, April 7th, 2021 at 9:30 am at Wick Road Baptist Church, 21117 Wick Road, Taylor until the time of the service which will begin at 10 am; Pastor Lanny Phillips will officiate. The interment will be immediately following the service and will be at Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery in Huron Twp., MI. There will not be a procession to the Cemetery; everyone is invited to meet the family at the cemetery. Memorial contributions to honor Connie’s life may be made to Jesus Centered Ministries for Nicaragua Child and Family, PO Box 7111 Knoxville, Tennessee 37921 To those attending visitation and/or services at the funeral home for a loved one, in keeping with CDC and State of Michigan DHHS guidelines, masks and social distancing along with limitations on number of person(s) in the chapel must be followed and will be enforced. We are not able to have food in the funeral home at this time. Thank you for understanding.
