Daniel R. Keathley, a beloved husband, father, and uncle, passed away on August 31, 2025, in Riverview, Michigan, at the age of 81. Born in Pikeville, Kentucky, on July 29, 1944, he lived a life enriched by love, family, and dedicated service to his community.
Daniel journeyed through life with grace and compassion, cherishing his wife, Diane Keathley, with whom he shared an extraordinary 60 years of marriage. Together, they created a nurturing home and fostered a deep bond that inspired all who knew them. Their son, Daniel Keathley Jr., carries forward his father's legacy of kindness and strength.
He is lovingly remembered by his family, including his nephews, Michael (Kim) Yokin and Gregory Moore, and his sisters-in-law, Kathy (Walter) Szuper and Mary (Christopher) Borland. He also held a special place in his heart for his late brother’s wife, Cindy (the late Earl) Butts. Each of these relationships was a testament to the love and support that permeated Daniel’s life.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, James and Eunice Keathley, who instilled in him values of hard work and integrity. He was also welcomed into eternal rest by his siblings: brothers Elmer (Carol) Keathley and Frank (Gail) Keathley, as well as his sister Deeon (Joseph) Davis. Additionally, Daniel will be fondly remembered by his brother-in-law, Daniel (Janice) Croft, who together with other family members, shared countless cherished memories.
A memorial gathering and service will be held on September 11, 2025, at The Trenton Chapel - Martenson Family Of Funeral Homes, located at 3200 West Rd, Trenton, MI, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with the service beginning at 6:00 PM. Daniel will then be honored in an inurnment service on September 12, 2025, at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Cemetery, 18303 Allen Road, MI, commencing at 12:00 PM.
As we celebrate the remarkable life of Daniel R. Keathley, we remember a man who touched the hearts of many and whose legacy will continue to inspire through the lives of those he loved and cared for deeply.
