Daniel Witz

Daniel Witz, born on October 27, 1951, in Detroit, left this world on September 19, 2025, leaving behind a legacy marked by love, talent, and unwavering dedication. He was a beloved husband, father, paw paw, and brother, whose spirit touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Daniel dedicated 40 years of his life to US Steel, where he not only contributed his skills but also earned the respect and friendship of his colleagues. His remarkable talent extended beyond the workplace; he was an All-State gymnast , a testament to his dedication to physical prowess and discipline. Throughout his life, Daniel embraced various hobbies that brought him joy. He had a special gift for storytelling, often captivating nieces, nephews and grandchildren around the campfire with tales of bloody bones that sparked their imaginations. A true sports enthusiast, he cherished weekends filled with football and other sports, relishing every moment of laughter and camaraderie with friends and family alike.

After taking pleasure in watching his children participate in sports, he found his greatest joy in spending time with his grandsons—whether observing their games, teaching them proper baseball swing techniques, or advising them on football positions. He also enjoyed watching professional and college football with his grandsons, ensuring to explain "EVERY" fundamental aspect of the game.

He cherished being surrounded by his family. Whether splashing in swimming pools during hot summer days or sharing warm moments together, Daniel treasured the time spent with his loved ones.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Beverly, and their loving children, Cori and Derrick. Daniel held a special place in his heart for his grandchildren: the late Nathan, Caleb, and Gavin, whose smiles brought him immeasurable happiness. He is also remembered by his brothers: the late Thomas and Timothy, Harry (Nora), and Leslie (Shirley), as well as his cousin Ronald (Diana) and Howard (Brenda). Daniel’s legacy continues through many nieces, nephews, and friends who hold dear the memory of his kind heart and gentle spirit.

Friends, family, and all who knew Daniel are invited to celebrate his life at The Trenton Chapel - Martenson Family Of Funeral Homes, located at 3200 West Rd, Trenton, MI 48183. Visitation will be held on September 25, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by a heartfelt funeral service on September 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM, concluding at 12:00 PM.
