David Scott Hilliker, born on December 8, 1988, was an accomplished plumber and a hard-working individual who embodied the spirit of dedication in both his profession and his personal life. He faced life's challenges with remarkable resilience, including a courageous battle with cancer, which ultimately led to his passing on July 29, 2025.
David's greatest pride and fulfillment came from being a father to his beloved daughter, Cameron Gurney-Hilliker. The bond they shared illuminated his life, bringing him joy and purpose. His love for family extended deeply; he was exceptionally close with his father, Mark Hilliker, and his sisters, Jennifer Hilliker and Mary (John) Fielhauer. David cherished the moments spent with his loved ones, and his warmth and care will be sorely missed.
In addition to his family, David was surrounded by many friends and dear relatives who knew him as a steadfast and loyal companion. David found joy in the simple pleasures of life; he loved fishing and was a devoted fan of the Detroit Tigers baseball team. It was during these moments—whether out on a tranquil lake or cheering on his favorite team—that his spirit shone brightest.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Kimberly Mead, and his paternal grandparents, Fred and Joan Hilliker, as well as his maternal grandmother, Eleanore Cochran. Their memories live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved David.
A visitation will be held in his honor on Friday, August 8, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at The Allen Park Chapel - Martenson Family Of Funeral Homes located at 10915 Allen Rd, Allen Park, MI 48101. A funeral service, celebrating David’s remarkable life and legacy, will take place the same day at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
David Scott Hilliker will be remembered not only for his accomplishments as a plumber, but also for his unwavering commitment to his family and friends. His legacy of love and laughter will continue to resonate in the lives of those fortunate enough to have known him.
