Denis Justice, a devoted husband and cherished father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2025, in Romulus, Michigan. Born on September 20, 1930, in Woodman, Kentucky, Denis lived a life filled with love, faith, and devout service to his family, community and Country.
Denis proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, a commitment that shaped his values of loyalty and honor. After his military service, he dedicated thirty years to McLouth Steel, where his work ethic and dedication garnered him the respect and admiration of his colleagues.
A man of deep faith, Denis gave his heart to the Lord in 1959 and remained a steadfast follower throughout his life. He was a long-time devoted member of the Harvest Worship Center Church of God of Prophecy in Taylor, Michigan; he passionately shared the Gospel of Christ with all he encountered, embodying kindness and compassion in every interaction. His strong Christian beliefs guided his actions and nurtured his relationships, portraying a life rich in purpose. He enjoyed traveling, especially going to Florida, farming, vegetable gardening and hunting. He was known for repairing bicycles and helping everyone in any way he could.
Denis was married to his beloved wife, Betty Sue (née Lewis), for an incredible 70 years. Together, they nurtured a loving family that became the cornerstone of his life. Denis is survived by his dear wife and their three sons, Glen (Sherry) Justice, Dale Justice (Lisa Denback), and Ernest (Diane) and their daughter, Cheryl (Oscar) Sousa, together with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great grandchildren, who filled his days with joy and laughter. He was immensely proud of his extensive family, which included grandchildren: Kevin Justice (Crystal Policelli), David Justice, Amie Justice (Bob Swift), Kelly (Jamie) Evans, Stephen (Lori) Justice, Billy (Cheryl) Justice, Jimmy (Becky) Justice, Adam (Adena) Justice, Justin Sousa, Bryan Sousa, Brandon (Leah) Sousa, Tyler (Alicia) Sousa, and great-grandchildren Anabell Justice (Nicholas Locklear), AJ Justice, Aiden Justice, Ava Badder, Halle Evans, Jake Evans, Rylie Evans, Brody Evans, Kyle Carpenter, Karissa Jenkins, Hannah Justice, Ethan Justice (Georgia Rivera), Lily Justice, Reed Justice, AJ Justice, Monica Justice, Madison Justice, Melanie Justice, Adam Justice, Anthony Justice, Max Sousa, and Emerson Sousa. He also enjoyed the pride of being a great-great-grandfather to Mason Carpenter.
In addition to his immediate family, Denis leaves behind his brothers-in-law, Emery Lewis (Barbara) and James Lewis. Also to include his daughter-in-law Debbie Daniels, and many other loving family members, church family, and friends who held a special place in his heart. His loyal dog, Mandy, will miss his gentle spirit dearly.
Denis is predeceased by his loving parents, Jim and Maudie (née Gooslin) Justice, along with fourteen siblings and many nieces and nephews who were touched by his kindness.
Denis will be remembered for his loving spirit, dedication to service, and unwavering faith. As part of the committal service at Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery, the Downriver Veterans Honor Guard will pay tribute to his valiant service to our Country.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a Sharing of Memories Service on Friday at 6 pm at The Allen Park Chapel - Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, located at 10915 Allen Rd, Allen Park, MI 48101. Further visitation is scheduled for Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM at the funeral home.
Denis leaves behind a legacy of love, family, faith, and honorable service that will continue to inspire those who knew him. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
