Dennis “Otis” O’Sullivan, affectionately known as Otis, passed away on June 29, 2026, in Rockwood, Michigan, at the age of 73. Born on August 26, 1952, in Detroit, Michigan, Dennis spent his life building a legacy rooted in hard work, devotion to family, and an unyielding passion for the pursuits he loved.
Dennis was a man who valued commitment and diligence, qualities evident throughout his life and cherished by all who knew him. He demonstrated a strong work ethic in all of his endeavors, earning the respect of colleagues, friends, and family members alike. His integrity and dependable nature formed the basis of countless enduring relationships.
Beyond his dedication to work, Dennis maintained an active and adventurous spirit. He was an avid golfer whose enthusiasm for the sport extended beyond the green. Dennis relished the opportunity to travel to new courses, always seeking out new experiences and challenges in the game he deeply enjoyed. Nothing, however, brought him more pride and fulfillment than watching his grandchildren participate in their sporting events. Their achievements and journeys offered him great joy and provided lasting memories that brightened his later years.
At the heart of Dennis’s life was his beloved family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Cheryl Ann O’Sullivan, whose unwavering partnership sustained and enriched his days. He leaves behind three sons—Ronald, Kenneth, and Christopher O’Sullivan—each of whom carries forward the values and lessons instilled by their father. The family circle extends to Alicia, whose presence added warmth and strength, as well as his cherished grandchildren: Zack O’Sullivan, Kelsey O’Sullivan, Rory O’Sullivan, and Finn O’Sullivan.
Dennis is also survived by his sister, Maureen Walsh, and brother-in-law, Jim Walsh, who shared in his life’s journey, supporting and celebrating his every milestone.
Remembering Dennis are those who have gone before him: his sisters, Sherry Marrs and Kay Trumbull; brothers-in-law, Bob Marrs and Gerald Trumbull; and dear aunt and sister, Janet Smith. Their memories remain closely held by all who loved Dennis.
Dennis “Otis” O’Sullivan will be remembered for his steadfast character, his devotion to family, and the vibrant energy he brought to everything he pursued. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, love for the game of golf, and, most of all, the countless lives he touched through his warmth and generosity.
