It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Dolores Nunez, a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, great grandmother, and dear friend. She passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
Dolores was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tony Nunez, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and adventure. She is survived by her children, Philip Nunez (Debbie Nunez) and Brenda Mantay (Larry Mantay); and her treasured grandchildren, Brandon Mantay (Tracie Mantay), Laura Griffith (Jonathon Griffith), Jennifer Monson (Jer Monson), and Piper Stone (Jessie Stone).
Born and raised in Beckley, West Virginia, Dolores carried the warmth and values of her hometown wherever life took her. After moving to the Detroit area, she met Tony, the love of her life, and together they built a beautiful family. Their journey led them to live in Chile and Brazil, creating incredible memories along the way. In their retirement, Dolores and Tony could often be found on the golf course, a shared passion that brought them joy and strengthened their bond.
Dolores had a lifelong love of learning and a natural curiosity about the world. She found joy in her kitchen, where she explored new recipes and shared delicious meals with those she loved. With her gift of gab and a warm, welcoming personality, she could light up any room. Her legacy is one of kindness, resilience, and finding joy in life’s simple pleasures.
In honor of Dolores, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, a cause that was close to her heart.
