Loving father of the late Terry (Judy) Eiden, Thomas (Kathy) Eiden, Gail Raupp, Rick Eiden and Pam (John) Firestone. Proud grandfather of Jason, Nicole, Kristopher, Emilie, Jacob, Danielle and Eric. Great grandfather of Nick, Andrew, Logan, Jaxson and Lorelai. Dear brother of Elaine Doughty. Loving father-in-law of Judy Eiden and brother-in-law of Kay DeLong. Donald was preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Elsie Eiden, spouse Joyce Eiden, son Terry Eiden, sister Geraldine Robinson, mother-in-law Carol Wade and sisters-in-law Ruth Krashovetz and Barbara Wertz. Don spent his life volunteering and helping others. He enlisted in Navy in August 1944 and served our country in World War II aboard the destroyer USS Jeffers. Among the many organizations that he volunteered in, he spent over 70 years in the Veterans of Foreign Wars, serving as commander, quarter master and building manager. He was a VFW district commander and state inspector. Through the VFW he was responsible for distributing flags throughout the city. Every year on Veterans Day he gave a talk to the students at the Allen Park High School. He was an active member and past president of the Allen Park Kiwanis, leading the club in peanut sales for many years. He was an active member of Goodfellows. He volunteered every week at the Detroit Veterans Hospital. Don was also very active in the city of Allen Park. He served as recreation director and was on the building authority responsible for the building of the ice rink and funding of Allen Parks new courthouse. For many years he ran Allen Park Days, including a carnival, fireworks display and Miss Allen Park contest. Another thing he truly loved to do was to play Santa Claus for many different organizations, convalescent homes and hospitals.
