Caroline (Jeffrey) Connolly of Traverse City and Jennifer (Richard) Whipple of Dexter. Grandfather of 12. Also survived by 1 brother Phillip E. (Carolyn) Thompson of Houston, TX and 1 sister Kathy (Lowell) Bouren of Monroe. He was preceded in death by his parents Donald E. Thompson and Gertrude L. Thompson (nee: Ewing). Donald was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church of Monroe. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1959 and was an alumni of Ferris State College and Lawrence Tech-Architecture School, Southfield, MI. Donald was on the Monroe Zoning Board of Appeals and the Monroe Historical Commission
