Donna J. Augenstein

August 5, 1953 - November 10, 2025

Donna was born in Portsmouth, Virginia,

to James R. and Elizabeth F. (Vago)

Augenstein. She is survived by her beloved uncle, Norman (Judy) Vago, and several cousins.

Raised in Wyandotte, Michigan, Donna graduated from Roosevelt High School, and later, Wayne State University, with a degree in early education.

Donna’s caring personality led her to a long career as a Montessori teacher of young children in many schools and finally retirement after 20 years with Utica Schools.

As an only child, Donna’s was a devoted, lifelong friend to many, valuing each person through her gentle and kind nature.

A compassionate believer in the rights of animals and people in need all over the world, Donna generously donated her time and resources toward making life better for others.

Friends who knew her unique, innate sweetness and loving presence, will miss her greatly.

In keeping with Donna's wishes, there will be no services at this time. Memorial contributions to honor her life may be made to Michigan Humane Society
