Donna Marie Hatcher, a beloved resident of Monroe, Michigan, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2026. Born on April 25, 1934 in Monroe, she was the daughter of Marion and Florence (Kellie) Tooley. Donna lived a life marked by devotion, warmth, and a genuine love for her community and family.
A proud graduate of Monroe High School, Donna married the love of her life, Hobart Hatcher, on December 19, 1958. Sadly he preceded her in death December 23, 2006. She dedicated much of her life to nurturing the youngest members of her community as a Teacher's Aide at the First Baptist Church Nursery School. Her gentle spirit and tireless care left an indelible mark on countless children and families throughout the years. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life; she was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church and actively engaged in the Women's Group, where her commitment and kindness were cherished by all.
Donna’s hobbies and interests reflected her creative and thoughtful nature. She was an avid bowler, a passionate seamstress who loved sewing and crocheting, and had a sharp mind for reading, which she did daily, but her most treasured times were those spent with her family. These activities not only brought her joy but also connected her to friends and family in meaningful ways.
Donna’s family was her greatest source of pride and joy. She is survived by her daughters, Dawn Hatcherand Jody Wathen, who carry forward her legacy of kindness and strength. She was a loving grandmother to five grandchildren Kenneth DuVall Jr., Stacey Roof-Periat, Michael LePage, Kevin DuVall, Erica LePage, a devoted great-grandmother to eleven great-grandchildren, Destinee Dowell, Kenneth DuVall III, Hunter LePage , Hayley DuVall, MaKenzie DuVall, Lily LePage, Collin Roof, Alex LePage, Nataly DuVall, Stephanie DuVall, and Vincent Periat and also held a special place in her heart as a great-great-grandmother to three precious little ones Owen, Jordan and Bentley Sapp. Donna’s brother Gary Tooley remains a cherished part of her surviving family. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother Terry Tooley and sister Grace Burtis.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Martenson Family of Funeral Homes-Allore Chapel; 203 E Elm Ave, Monroe. A Celebration of Life will take place at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow next to her husband at Roselawn Memorial Park.
