Dorothy "Dottie" M. Bond

Dorothy "Dottie" M. Bond. Age 88 of Trenton, formerly of Grosse Ile. Passed away August 21, 2015. Loving mother of Rick, Kathy and Craig. Dottie was born and raised in Detroit and on a family farm in Pinconning, MI. She was the youngest of 4 children – two sisters (Rose, Marie) and a brother (Ray). She helped her husband Morris build his business and then enjoyed many happy years raising her family on the island of Grosse Ile. She loved living the Island life. She had a strong work ethic and a long career in real estate and with Welcome Wagon, which suited her generous spirit. Dottie was a kind and loving soul who never had a bad word to say about anyone and had the gift to always find the best in everyone she met. "Sweet" was a word that was often used to describe her and you could see that in her loving eyes and easy smile. Her optimistic nature served her well, especially at the end of her life. She had a strong will to live and survive, meeting all of life's challenges with incredible grace. She was a lover of music, nature, the water, sailing and animals, but more than anything she adored her three children. She would often say that the three happiest days of her life were when her three children were born. Her children were devoted to her and her care to the end – a testament to what a beautiful mother she was.
