Douglas Eugene Mierzwinski

Born in Highland Park, Michigan, Douglas was the son of Eugene and Wanda (Jakniunas) Mierzwinski. He worked as a Foreman for the Wayne County Road Commission for over 32years, retiring in 1997. Douglas was a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge in Marco Island, Florida and a member of the Tennessee Squire. He enjoyed trips to Northern Michigan in RV. Douglas is survived by his daughter Candace Mierzwinski of Monroe and a son Matthew Mierzwinski of Flat Rock; his mother Wanda Mierzwinski of Farmington Hills; three grandchildren: Alexander Mierzwinski, Anna Mierzwinski and Andrew Mierzwinski; as well as a brother Michael Mierzwinski of Ypsilanti and a sister Carol (James) Zawacki of Tecumseh. Sadly he was preceded in death by his father. In accordance with Douglas' wishes, cremation is taking place.
