Edward was born in Lewisburg, PA, to Claude and Onnolee Shenton on May 20, 1941. His family also included older sister Beverly and a twin-sister Ellen. He is survived by wife of 55 years, Alice (Stewart), four children, and 10 grandchildren. Robert (deceased Kelly) of Dublin, OH; Linda Kell (Thomas) of Trenton, MI; Mary Jauregui (Adam) of Powell, OH and Mark (Lisa) of Farmington Hills, MI. His grandchildren are: Allison (Tommy Dahlborg) and Hannah Shenton; Megan (Isiah Law), Lauren, and Jay Solano; Owen and Olivia Jauregui; and Cole, Luke and Drew Shenton. Edward was raised in Kenmore, NY and a graduate of Kenmore West High School. His college studies were at the University of Buffalo and graduated with a degree in business administration in 1963. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served as a military policeman in Germany for two years. He then became an employee of the J.L. Hudson Company in Detroit which brought him to this area where he met his wife Alice, organist at Glenwood United Methodist Church. They were married in 1967 and lived in Trenton to raise their family. He had a love for the water and enjoyed boating and fishing on the EdVenture. He also was an active member of Faith United Methodist Church and Rotary Club of Trenton. He found great joy in spending time with his children and grandchildren at a school or sporting activity. Grandpa Ed truly loved his FaceTime calls with all his family! Edward’s favorite scripture was Matthew 5:16: Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. He was a man of faith who modeled this scripture and passed those Christian values on to his children and grandchildren.
