With profound sadness and heartfelt remembrance, we announce the passing of Edward Gerard Risher, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who departed this life on March 25, 2026. Born on July 18, 1944, in Detroit, he was the son of Charles and Rosina (Boff) Risher. Edward lived a life rich with devotion, service, and unwavering love for family and community.
Edward was a proud graduate of Holy Redeemer Catholic High School, an institution that laid the foundation for a life marked by integrity and dedication. A veteran of the Navy, he served his country with honor and pride, embodying the values of duty and commitment. Edward married the love of his life, Cathey Warf, Januray 12, 1974. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to own and operate Comtech and Electronics Inc., where his work ethic and leadership left a lasting impression on colleagues and customers alike.
A man of many passions, Edward was an avid Detroit Tigers baseball fan, finding joy and excitement in the game that brought communities together. He also cherished hot rods and car shows, where he could immerse himself in the craftsmanship and camaraderie that these events inspired. He loved to travel with his cherished group of friends , they took many trips all over the world together. Yet, beyond his interests, Edward was most remembered for his generous heart—always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need, a trait that endeared him to many.
As a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Edward’s faith was a guiding light throughout his life. It was here that he found solace, strength, and fellowship, enriching the lives of all who knew him.
Edward’s loving family remains a testament to his life well-lived. He is lovingly survived by his wife, Cathey; his children, Jessica (Paul) Perugi and Ryan (Amy) Risher; and six treasured grandchildren , Libby, Hunter, Elijah, Cody, Jonah, and Elliana, who brought him immense joy. He was their biggest fan and so proud of them. He is also survived by his siblings Joanne Rafferty, Mary Lou (Bill) Kemeny, and Judi Schembri, who carry forward his legacy of family unity and love. Sadly he was preceded in death by his siblings Thomas Risher and Susan Carmacki, whose memories he held dear.
Edward Gerard Risher’s legacy is woven into the hearts of all who knew him—a man who embodied kindness, hard work, and boundless love. His memory will forever be a blessing, an enduring reminder of a life dedicated to faith, family, and friendship. Rest in peace, Edward; you will be deeply missed and eternally cherished.
